I was at Walmart today and thay had an Airblown Halloween Globe that had flying bats in it onsale for $35. It was the display and was the last one left. We go really ou for Christmas and Halloween and this was the one thing I didn't have. I told them I wanted it and said I would be back in 10 minutes while they took it off the shelf and put it back in the box. Ten minutes later I came back to find out that they sold it to someone else. I called other Walmarts in our area but they wouldn't sell any of them to us for the $35. I think it should be Walmarts responsibilty to get us another Halloween Globe because it was their fault that they didnt put a sold sign on it and they didn't tell their holiday section workers that it was sold. Now what do I do?

did you sign a contract with them...with a specific clause stipulating they would hold it for you? i know it sounds bad, but they breached no duty to you...first come (with cash in hand) first serve. i've had wal mart put large items in their stock room to hold for me (untill i could get a truck), but i always paid in full, and had a manager write and sign on the reciept that i already paid...so they would not think i was getting a second "free" one.

Walmart is not responsible to replace the product you wanted to buy. They were under no obligation to hold it for you. You should have stood there while they took it down for you and boxed it up. As far as I'm concerned, once you walked off, it was available for anyone else to purchase. It is a hard lesson to learn. You'll have to wait for next year and make sure you purchase it well in advance.

Absolutely, I would call the manager and if you didn't get you issue handled then call the district, regional.... They should definitely find you one from the nearest Walmart so you can go and get it for that price - at least purchase it and refund the difference from the original Walmart.

I agree I think they are responsible to find you another one. They should not have sold it to someone else. I am sure they can call another wal-mart and have one for you right away. Speak to the manager at the store this happened. I am sure if you fuss enough they will get you another one. Good luck!!

I agree. I work in retail. If a deal was made then there has to be a follow up. Walmart should get you one and their manager should be on the ball to do this asap.

you snooze you loose, it's the harsh reality. the employees are usually there just to put in their 8 hours and don't really care.
