USA culture is a melting pot? It depends on how you look at it. Since the majority jobs are owned with Mr. WhiteMan, we colored people (yellow, brown, red, green, purple, black) have to mimick and try to be white as best as we can to integrate into the white personality. This takes work. Whitieboy does not have to make this extra effort since he was born that way, he naturally has this white personality already which helps him climb the corporate latter of success (a birthright). So what you see, is colored people always having to take the first step to walk up to a white stranger to meet him. Never will you see a whitie walk up to a colored stranger to meet him. That has been my experience.

your experience is too limited.
i am an irish american, i live in Durango CO,
and i grew up in Albuquerque NM, where whites are the slight minority to hispanics. i have many hispanic and native american friends, and skin color has absolutely nothing to do with how i choose who to talk to or not talk to. i have actually never noticed this phenomenon you speak of, maybe you need to get out of alabama or new hampshire and check out how real people interact.

While I would have to agree with you that the majority of the people of my ethnic background feel uncomfortable approaching those of other ethnic backgrounds, I am proud to say that I am usually not the same. I have friends of almost every color I've met. Black, Hispanic, Asian, Indian (India and American), I like talking to people with different frames of reference than mine. I find I usually learn something from hearing another viewpoint. Personally, I think that most people are just afraid of what they see as unfamiliar. I know it isn't an excuse, but as far as I can tell it's the truth. Also, not all "white" people have the same background. For example, I am mostly German, and my wife's family is very traditional Polish. I must say it has been interesting learning all the traditions they keep. In any case, my opinion on the whole thing is that the more people there are who try to be open, the better it will be for all of us. I am speaking purely socially, because as far as the business world is concerned, I would have to disagree with you pretty much completely. Business doesn't care who you are or what color your skin is. Now, it may just be that you are upset by what you see, but the attitude I see is not going to help what you are pointing out. Just something to consider.

" So what you see, is colored people always having to take the first step to walk up to a white stranger to meet him. Never will you see a whitie walk up to a colored stranger to meet him."

Why is it then, that I have seen plenty of "whities" being hired by "other ethnic groups" ?? It all depends on YOUR life's experiences... which by the sounds of it... yours are limited to just a 'few' people, and have reflected sorely on you. Oh and by the way.... "whitieboy", does NOT always "climb up the corporate latter"...... you have to have smarts, and ambition, and prove (no matter what color you are) that you can DO the job..... that's how you 'climb up the corporate latter' !!!

Oh and also... I work in retail, so i 'walk up to' colored people ALL THE TIME, just to meet them, and ask them how their day is !

"Never will you see a whitie walk up to a colored stranger to meet him. That has been my experience."

Well, your experience is wrong. I've done it many times, and seen it happen many more.

You don't think it takes effort for anyone to try to climb the corporate ladder? You don't think white ladder-climbers don't have to kiss the A$ $es of people they don't like? You think that being white automatically lets you climb the ladder?

Well, it doesn't. The corporate world has chewed up and spit out teeming numbers of whites, too.

Yes, there is unfairness in the world. And it affects many of us, not just you.

The thing is, you are not born with a personality. Personality is what you devolpe. I don't know how to act white or act black or act asian, I just try my best to act like ME.

Most jobs in the USA are held by white people becuase the majority of people in the US are white. I dont see that many white people in upper mangement in China. Is it becuase the chinese hate white people? With the exception of you, NO! It is becuase there are not that many white people in China.

I tried to answer your first questions the best I could, but you are nothing but racist.

I wonder how often you're watching my fiance's family not initiate contact with non-whites. They're Native American (or, as you say, RED) and everyone swears they look white.

Sorry, but that's not true in my experience. And, um, being white isn't a personality. We're all different. Sounds like somebody needs to initiate contact with other ethnic groups himself.

yea ur totally right, being an arab....white people treat you bad. They are the racist type who look down on you....it really hurts to know that they consider themselves the superior race....Why am i always profiled and judged....I guess because im not white....White people have it so easy they always have all the oppurtunities while those who are not white can never make to the top.....
