To regard MJ, the greatest player of all time, overrated would show how ignorant someone is. The fact that the bulls never won unless he was playing doesn't even make him the greatest. He was a great role model, brought new fans to the sport, and NBA ratings have not even come close to what they were before he retired. The 6 Championships, 5 league MVPS and 6 Finals MVP is just the iceing on the cake. But Kobe Bryant is not underrated you ask anyone in the league if he is the best all around player in the game and they would probably say yes, the problem is he has given himself a bad reputation.

I think Kobe actually is a bit underrated. Everyone says that all he does is score, and he's a ball hog. But his other stats are starting to rise, and if you look at the rest of the Lakers from the beginning of last season to the beginning of this season, it's a completely different team. Kobe has made his teammates MUCH better over the last year or so. He took them from a joke to almost beating the Suns in the playoffs(how they lost a 3-1 lead I'll never know). I won't say he's better than Jordan though. It took Kobe a long time to become a superstar and a great player, and Jordan did it almost immediately. And yes, I do think Michael is overrated. Yeah, that's right. People say he's the best of all time. OK, give me proof. How? In what way? There was/is someone better than him in any category you look at. He ties with Chamberlain in PPG and that's the only category where he's #1. And if you think he's the best all-around player you're dead wrong. I hear that one all the time. You must not have heard of Oscar Robertson. When did Jordan average even NEAR a triple double a game? Oh, he didn't. And Russell had 5 more rings than Jordan, so don't play the championship card either.

LMAO.... This is a rediculous question, how do you answer it.....
"Uhhh I think Kobe is better than MJ no matter how many more rings MJ has and even though MJ was way better, has more scoring titles etc..... Nothing you can say can convince me that MJ was better.."
Derrrr, you cant argue with stupidity. Kobe is great, MJ is the GREATEST. PERIOD. If Kobe's your favorite player, then just say that. It's all good, why compare apples to oranges? When Kobe learns to play team ball, stops playing dirty and wins another ring, you can post this question again without sounding so incredibly lame.

Well that is rather stupid. To say that Jordan is not the best ever. I followed his career, and believe me he is not overrated, and yes he is the best ever. He was so good, that his dominance can only be rivalled by Tiger Woods or others like that. Some great comments here. But please don't compare stats from players that played 20 yrs before him. The game continues to develop and the players are getting better all the time. Wilt scored 100 but that was like watching a game at the YMCA. PLEASE! He wouldn't have got 30 against Shaq on an average night, even though his teammates passed it to him every time. Now Kobe - yeah seen him and he's brilliant. But he's not MJ. Not even close. He has great athleticism. Great shot off the dribble, post up and dominate smaller players, but all of this is a lesser version of what jordan developed in his career. A sign of a good player is when they step up in big games. Kobe's good but could he have won a championship with an "I can only go left" goof (Kukoc) a clumsy centre (Luc "damn I can dunk it at training" Longley), Steve "I'm a good shot but that's it" Kerr, Dennis "I know you had that rebound Pippen but I jumped on your head to get it because I couldn't score in a brothel and I'm all about the rebound stats" Rodman) I doubt it. Jordan beat the double team not Longley, whereas Kobe took advantage of single coverage and double teams on SHaq etc.

PG: D-Will. I actually consider he's the satisfactory PG within the league. SG: Courtney Lee- I consider he's going to broaden into an overly forged participant at the Nets along Harris. SF: Jeff Green- his first few years had been greater than Pippen's(statistically) PF: Paul Milsap- will probably be greater than Boozer. C: David Lee- He can play middle. Lee is a double-double desktop. Bench: PG: Jose Calderon- Great passer, and shooter. Barely turns the ball over. SG: Russel Westbrook- Can most likely play SG. Good D, can ranking, and accelerated his passing plenty. Has been averaging nine assists and one million.five TO's in 2 pre-season recreation, which says plenty due to the fact that he used to be very turnover susceptible. SF: Shane Battier- the satisfactory defender within the NBA> PF: Carl Landry- A difficult-operating,hard participant. C: Brook Lopez- had a nice rookie season. Will broaden right into a nice participant. Overrated workforce: PG: Steve Nash- Some humans say he's nonetheless a most sensible three PG. He is a most sensible 8ish PG, no in which close most sensible three. SG: Ben Gordon- Horrible shot determination. SF: Trevor Ariza- People count on him to turn out to be Houston's quantity one million scoring alternative. He'll be well however now not nice. PF: Carlos Boozer- ugh C: Andrew Bynum-sigh sixth Man: Zach Randolph-bleh

Kobe is an outstanding scorer but by no means is he underrated. MJ created a championship team by getting everyone around him better while Kobe doesnt know how to get his team involved and without another great player on his side like shaq he will never win another championship.

Kobe is about me, me, me. And he still sucks. Jordan, envolved his team during the games. And thats why he's got a ring for nearly every finger. Dream on dude if you think Kobe is better than Jordan.
Jordan would school Bryant. Jordan would jump over Bryants big head and kaakkkkk DUNK ON HIM while Bryant was smellin' the dog crap on the bottom of Jordans Nikes.

They both are excellent players. And second of all M.J. revolutionized the game as well as anything that made him money he was into. Now Kobe, is the next generation and he intensified what M.J. did for the game. In a sense they're the same because they both had scandals and both were selfish in the beginning of the careers. So, They are the American dream because they're perfect picture example of learning and persevering.
