I've thought of high freq sound waves already...any other suggestions?? Using something that won't really interfere with my life (e.g. smelly compounds).

Thanks!

Garlic! Natures own insect repellant.
Trust me, it works for yourself (you don't have to eat a lot for insects to be repelled by it); it'll work in your garden (peel a clove and place it where you want to get rid of the insects); it'll even get rid of ants in your house (same concept for garden).
Doesn't cost much, and you can't get any more natural.

Cover the exposed area with a thick coating of mud,so they can't sense you or reach your skin. Some insects are attracted to you by certain compounds in your saliva so keep your mouth closed and hope this is enough!

To ward off flying insects, take a B-Complex vitamin every day. After a week or so, your body will take on an odor that you cannot detect but flying insects can and they don't like it.

A mixture of lemon juice and Dawn dish washing liquid. Half and half is the key. Trust me it will keep them all away and it will kill the Japanese flat worm that lives in our soil now. Citrus oil is the only way to kill them so use a citrus scented Dawn . They are very hazardous to our gardens and soil , because their fav food is our sweet and very helpful earth worm. We wouldn't have a healthy lawn or garden without them. The flat worms are vicious. They have a ferocious appetite. And they will clean you out of your earth worm farm in a month flat!! If you chop them up or try to crush one with your foot...it just comes right back and more of them.
