From The UK Associated Press,
Former USA spy Ahmad Chalabi said this. "The USA should open talks with Iran. If America enhances the Iraqi army, improves it's intelligence, give Iraq and there Government more authority, amd open talks with it's neighbors such as Iran, coalition forces could begin withdrawal in less than two years." He cited the rise in American deaths and the sectarian violence in Iraq as reasons to talk with Iran about there role in the insurgency. He also criticized secret USA talks with Iraqs Sunnie Arab led insurgency. He said they would not help stabilize Iraqs fragile government or reduce violence.
By Steven R. Hurst and Qassim Abdul-Zahra for the Associated Press.
Iraqi premier is seeking more control over Army. Noruri al_Maliki demanded a video confernece with Bush. In that conference Maliki tod bush "I am a friend to the USA, but I am not Americas man in Iraq". Tony Snow confirmed that this was told to Bush. Bush was said to except Iraqs position that a renewal of the UN mandates for the US military was conditional on "swift action" to to hand full control of the Iraqi army to the Baghdad Government and the withdrawal of coalition forces when the Iraqi army is in fact ready.

BTW, My words, it was one year ago that a high ranking USA military General said " the Iraqis are about 75 percent ready" That was before Bush drafted 35,000 additional Guard troops to serve in Iraq.

Iraq is a country with an elected government, a democracy, albeit occupied by a foreign power's army - the US army.

What makes it not a democracy right now is the presence of the military domination of the country by the US army & foreign corporations, such as Haliburton, supported by the US army.
(can you see where this is going yet?)

Much of the violence is directly targeted toward the uninvited invaders,(the US army) who (rightly or not) the local people are afraid are there to stay, long term.

When the occupation is over & the invaders are withdrawn, whatever happens will be the business of the people who live there.

It actually is right now, regardless of what anyone else ever says or does.

You are good at using some news article but what do YOU think. I do not give much thought to what spy's say. He has a Axe to grind with the US because he is no longer a spy. There is nothing new in the second article you quote. Bush has always said we would withdraw as soon as the Iraq government & army was able to defend themselves.Maliki better be carefull, we helped put him in & we can help to fire him.

To Answer Your Question: I think you misunderstand the situation in Iraq, like a typical liberal its not even about the Iraq war to you anymore, its about how much you hate Bush. Get over it guy, he'll be gone soon enough, stop throwing your verbal tantrums.

I love how all you do is spend every blog entry talking about me, you must really dig me. And is $1.2 Mil all you raised for Democrats hahahaha, you remind me of an old neighbor, he was bragging when he bought a new "honda" - as if that was saying something to brag about. When I was a young man I raised more than that for a local MAYOR's race, with NO internet.

Are your eyes sore from crying and whining so much?

This is a simple issue of Iraq assuming full control of its military "when the Iraqi army is in fact ready". That is what we are working towards, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.
