hey..., my playstation stopped to read discs..., but last night when i tried to play Valkyrie..., it eventually worked..., but today it isn't working again..., what can i do to get my PS2 working again..., without spending money for repairs...

mine was the same way... i just let it sit there unplugged for about 20-35 days and then i tried it and it worked... it probably just needs a break or something

3 things come to mind:
1 you could give it to ebgames and run..but then you have no way to play games
2- buy a cd player cleaning kit....it looks like a CD but has small brushes that clean the CD lens
3 - clean the CD's also check them for scratches.
most of the time cleaning the CD players and the cds will fix the problem. good luck

Clean the laser with a qtip and rubbing alcohol.
If that doesn't work then there is a big white gear in it. Turn the gear one click. If that don't work then turn the gear a click in the oposite direction.

seriously ,u need to open it up and take a qtip with alcohol and clean the laser i did it with mine it works but be careful
