Blue topaz, turquoise, and blue zircon are recognized as birthstones for December. Also, more recently, tanzanite has been added to the list for December. I think we have the most gems of all of the months.

Amen, we December ladies RULE!!
I've always thought that TURQUOISE was our birthstone; I'm glad to see that we have some other nice "blue" stones to choose from. After all, WE'RE worth it, right?!
I have heard that TANZANITE is a stone that Bin Laden's family mines, and there was a sort of emotional boycott of it after Sept. 11, but I might be wrong about that. Anyone know for sure?
