People must do what is right to save the society even if it means sacrificing their own lives. Society is not about just one person but about the group of people as a whole. There is always a reward, whether direct or indirect, for those who do the right thing.

Are we talking about the play, The Crucible, by Arthur Miller about the Salem witchhunt trials? There it is not a matter of doing the right thing for soiety at one's peril as losing ones life because of society. Society is the social contract theory. We give up good and bad traits in ourselves to be part of society. We are not free to burn down villages and commit mayhem which is good but also we cannot seek our own enlightenment all the time. We must get jobs and contribute to others at the cost of our own needs and wishes.
