I think you're trying to say 2x/3 = 3/4

If that's the case you want to cross-multiply to get your answer.

2x (4) = 3 (3)
8x = 9
x = 9/8

Is it supposed to be

Two thirds of x = three quarters

as a first step, you want to be able to reduce the denominators (numbers at the bottom) to 1.

You multiply both sides of the equation by 12, treating both sides equally and enabling you to cancel the denominators to 1.

8x = 9

x =9/8 = 1 and 1/8

When you have consecutive integers, you need to add however many numbers thee are away from the first. So therefore your consecutive integers would be x, x+1, and x+2. Then if the last consecutive number is added to 3 times the first the equation would be 3x+(x+2)=22. I hope this helps!

First, mutiply everything by 3 so you get

2x = (3 * 3) / 4

Now mutiliply everthing by 4

8x = (3 * 3)

x = 9/8
