i don't know what ,mentality i was thinking on..but i was wondering...how do nascar drivers pee when thay drive? do they wear dipers or something? just wondering!!!!!!!

They can do a variety of things. Most drivers just hold it until the end of the race. Others can wear a type of diper type of thing to help them out if they need to take a leak. Or, some guys can just let it out without a diper! Because the cars are so hot, the urine evaporates quickly!

Contrary to what many of these "experts" think, we do pee during races. Some just pee in their firesuits and other wear a device called a fireman's boot. It is like a condom with a small hose attached to it. We run it down the leg of our firesuit and out a hole in the bottom of the racecar. It is a complete myth that we drivers do not pee during a race. While we do sweat and lose weight during a race, our bodily functions do not cease. Ift hey did, we would be dead. I've been a driver in NASCAR for several years and have driven in the Craftsman Truck Series, Busch Series, and several touring series, so I'm speaking from experience.

i'm so utterly amazed as to why this is such an interest for so many people. i'm okay going my whole life w/o knowing about someone's bodily functions.. but here is the answer:
the drivers are conditioned.. first, they don't just drink a crapload sunday morning. they hydrate themselves all week long..so their bladder doesn't try to burst during the race. so what they drink on race day is not a shock to their system..
second, most times they do sweat out what they can drink during the race..remember, they don't chug like 80 gallons an hour before the race..
also think about it.. they are in those cars for like an average of 4 hours.. do you have to pee a lot in 4 hours under normal circumstances?? so yeah, people think they are holding it for an eternity, and they really aren't.. they often go right before in the media center before the pre-race anthem and stuff and then if necessary run for it after the race..
if for some odd reason they just go in the car..b/c of a long start, or a long red flag it can happen. there are a few driver's who have fessed up about it..and there are a few driver's who have started rumors about other driver's.. the fire suits kind of hide it...but if you ever see a driver douse himself with gatorade or whatever his sponser is that he has to drink before he gets out of the racecar, and it just pooring it overhimself..yeah, it's a cover-up. it does happen, but it's not like these guys are peeing all over the place every race..

I saw one race on TV where Tony Stewart won. He was sick that day with a stomach ailment & diareha (according to the comentators). At the end of the race, the poor guy parked it in victory circle, hoped out of his car, said no interviews & went straight to his motor home. I felt really sorry for the guy!!!

They don't wear diapers. If they can't hold it in yea they'll pee on there self. Dale Jr did it once before. When Tony Stewart had stomach cramps at Infinion he won the race but he shi*ted in his pants and had to change before he went to victory lane.

During a race drivers can sweat up to 10 pounds of fluids. No matter how much they drink they're going to sweat out the excess fluids before it ever gets to their bladder to urinate. Sweat cools the body and it is so hot in those cars that they need to keep taking in fluid just to keep their body from going into heat stroke by not being able to produce sweat. In a nutshell, they don't pee, they sweat it all out.

OK. How long is a normal race? And how many of you can actually HOLD your urine for that long? I can't believe...yes I can...that some of you...a huge majority of you actually said they hold it. They don't hold it, they sweat it out like someone else has mentioned. Why, oh why would you think that they are "superhuman" to think that they can and do hold it?

I have often thought about that. I wondered maybe some kind of hose/urinal sort of contraption? Good question.
