I just bought their new album, , and my friends are saying that they worship the devil and that the album is evil? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'm a christian and I dont want people thinking that I worship anything other than God, but My Chemical Romance is a great band and I want to know that they are not devil worshippers.

No, I can asure you that My Chemical Romance does not worship the devil. Their new album, The Black Parade, is not about worshiping the devil. The concept of the album is celebrating life and death. Their single, Welcome to the Black Parade is about how wouldn't it be great if death came to us however we wanted it to. In the video, the patient was taken to a parade by his dad when he was little, and for some reason it was an important factor in his life, or at least a really memorable one, and so when the patient dies, death comes to him as a parade. They do not worship the devil. If you listen to the album, you can see that they are celebrating life and death.

No hunni, My Chemical Romance does not worship the devil. The story in The Black Parade is about the patient dying, the pain to death and the effect of death upon those that were close to the person. The only song that has a strong relation to hell is Mama
If you realize, most of the song say somethign about heaven. They aren't evil and besides that they do not push their views on anyone else. Gerard and Mikey were raised Catholic (sp?) and they all believe in a higher power, they just don't know what that would be.

no they arent your friends probably think that because the lead singers hair used to be black and that associated with goth people, but it is also assciated with the scenester/emo scene, what they are is a post harcore/emo/postpunk band trying to say they are meatal by playing some metal solos, but they are still obiously an emo band on there new record still, whenever a singer was seriously depressed and suicidal and all the songs are about losing loved ones and dying, which is all of there albums they just go about it different ways on the different albums, but they are deffinantly just and emo band and do not worship the devil,

no, they do not worship the devil. the album is not evil or about the devil. it's just about a man, "the patient", dying and his journey through death and figuring out what it all means. whoever told you they worship the devil and all that has no idea what they're talking about. have they even listened to the album???

Are you kidding? It is music. Artistic impression, what does religion have to do with creativity. That is the worst excuse for christian ignorance i have ever heard. Do you think Mozart or Chopin were christian? Who cares? If you like the music listen to it. If they worship the devil and you like their music,it doesn't mean you worship the 'devil'. You just appreciate their talent. Get over yourself and your hangups!!! Music is life!!!
