Go get her! What have you to lose? If you really think you can make something of it, then social standing has nothing to do with it. Don't let people judge you by such things. Its about love.

If her social standing is something you have to think about, then the love you once had no longer exit or strong enough for you to persue. Why not just start with a friendship first. If it mean to be it will be. Good luck

The fact that you, or whoever, has considered her social standing tells me it wouldn't work because you would always feel superior to her. And when you had spats, your opinion of her being a dropout, a singer, etc. would come out. Leave this one alone and do both of you a favor.

If her social standing has you debating whether to pursue her or not then you don't love her. Do her a favor and stay out of her life.
