Hi, i have an iPod nano 4gb and that happened to me, 2gb was being used by 'other'.
Restore it to its factory settings , that's what i did and now there's hardly any being used by it. You click on your ipod on the left of itunes when it is connected to your computer and then press restore. It will make it go back to how you got it, ie no songs but it works. The 'other' will be gone. You just have to load your songs on again. But its worth it

You should not so that. Which iPod do you have? remember that the best quality of audio is 128 Kbps that one is great. Maybe your audio files are above that rate, and that is a waste of space. Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing tab > and under Setting, choose 128 Kbps and under Import Using, choose MP3 encoder I like it better.
The thing that says "Other" space, its maybe because you have the photos of the albums. Maybe you should restore your iPod.

I do not know about deleting the games but it means 1000 songs on average. Unless your is somehow not deleting some content you put on it those 250 songs are pretty large. So if the songs are just larger songs I think your out of luck.

I suppose it depends on what kb rate you have your mp3's in.
An mp3 converted to 128 or 192 kbps...is a much smaller file than one converted to 320 kbps. And it obviously depends on the length of the song.
So, to fit more files on your iPod just make sure they are in 128kbps.

Maybe some of your "larger" songs are taking a lot of space
Maybe "1000" songs is an approx. number and is on the average space size of a song.
