i think that one of the laws has changed in ohio about taking breaks and i think that you can get paid for them now but i am not sure on where to look at on the internet and i would really like it if someone can point me in the right direction.

The closest I could find to an 'official' source was dated early 2001. It stated that their is no Federal or Ohio laws requiring ANY breaks, paid or unpaid. If a break is unpaid, your employer can't require any work to be done during the break time. There is supposed to be a poster somewhere at your place of employment that summarizes labor laws. I haven't read one for years.

I once had a manager admit that they sometimes told employees that 'the law required' something just to stop them from asking why. Don't take anyone's word for what the law does or does not require.

There were alot of things like this that I thought were LAWS when in reality they were perks. Alot of the time it's what the company policy is. But it is different in each state and it depends on the type of work and age.
