Or are they busy in Iraq?

Hopefully they are busy somewhere else.

It wouldn't be pretty if they drove a car full of explosives into a market in downtown Los Angeles or a bomber walked into Macy's

But those types of things are taking place in Iraq.

Well, what one said is true. It does not fit Al Qaeda's modus operandi (what you hear on Law and Order as M.O., which is their method of committing crimes) to attack us after such a short period of time. If Al Qaeda were still operable, they would wait at least about 3 more years.

Now why I said "if Al Qaeda were still operable." Currently, Al Qaeda is disabled. Too many high leaders have been arrested/killed/taken out. Granted, smaller cells are still active, but rather than as a terroristic group on the scale that Al Qaeda WAS, they are more like the Columbine kids (that yes, were terrorists, but because of being over zealous and several flaws in the plan, their first target became their last and was only chalked up to a school shooting)

Right now, these smaller cells are very busy trying to retie into their larger group again, and thus are no longer a threat to American soil but rather the individual military platoons that they may just happen to encounter.

look how long it took them to put 9/11 together. what we americans need to undestand about the middle east and the surrounding regions is that, they dont live life by the clock. they take their sweet time at everything. the only reason they havnt attacked us again is they spent 2 yrs pleading to their base for support(after 9/11 their base wasnt too happy, so they did some PR to retain support), and the fact that they work extremely slow. we've been lucky. also, theyve been recruiting new young members in iraq, using iraq as training ground. Al Qaeda is evolving, while we're busy blaiming each other

The Islamic terrorists have all the time in the world. They will certainly attack again. It is virtually certain that in the next twenty or thirty years an attack much larger than the 911 attack (in terms of casualties) will occur in the United States. They are planning and scheming; in fact, the longer they wait in planning, the better it is for them. After fifteen years they'll catch Americans napping perhaps. Never think they are occupied or defeated. It just means you're napping.

Because the ENEMY THE ISLAMO FASCIST Know that President Bush will bomb their *** to the stone age...he wont ask ....well WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHY they don't like us....we make their governments rich off oil.....but its our fault their governments hide the money and only a few thousands are rich...and some thousands are poor......

This has been happening since 1949 at least..

Are you kidding me its only now a problem in 2001 and beyond..

NO one has attack U.S Soil because they know we now have a President...who will kick their butt....he promised this...and he has kept this word.....

Your next President if she or he is a liberal will be tested...and if they do not respond in such as the same way...then you will see suicide bombers in your day care centers, in your shopping malls, and in your football games.....Friday night high school....

Solely because you elected sorry *** liberals to defend your country...

It's been a combination of things. Obviously our government and law enforcement have done some good things. Although they get too little credit for that. Thank goodness we haven't been attacked in the last 5 years.

Aren't you glad they have not? Would you rather live in a place like Iraq where terrorist attacks are a daily occurrence????

Perhaps their message that the US and non-Muslims are evil is being spread without new attacks.
