Well, it’s actually a dilemma to work or not to work. I’ve been given the opportunity to stay home and take care of my ailing child. That means just enough income to pay the bills and constant worry about my child and money. However, if I stay at work, then have to worry about making enough money to pay for all my bills and for daycare ($1000 per month). Then I have to worry that the daycare is providing my child with adequate care. If I stay home with my child, then I have to worry if being with me all the time is enough socialization or if maybe she needs interaction with kids her own age. I’ve never been in this type of situation before and I’m looking for some advice on which would be the better way to go.

think it depends on how sick your child is.......? No amount of money can replace time that you didn't spend, or get to spend with your child.

There are benefits to being a stay at home mum, and you can still send your child to childcare if you are worried about the socialisation side of things. You can also take your child to your local play group with is always lots of fun and there is socialising for both the parent and the child.

I can't tell from your question whether or not you are married, if you are not married, then the cost for child care is substantially cheaper, as well as the cost of medication for your child.

I would stay at home. Don't worry about being able to buy the best of everything for your child - kids prefer a happy loving parent who is there for them, then all the toys in the world!

If you stay at home, there are mothers groups you can find for your child to develop social skills and would be good for you as well. I am in the same boat but I don't earn enough to pay for my childcare so I am forced to stay at home. I do enjoy staying at home but getting out with other adults is such a great break and I used to do that by going to work. I don't know which choice is best for you, you'd have to decide that yourself.

Chelle~
My daughter has autism. It is so important to be there for your child. Mine is in school now, so I work part time during the day, and party at night! lol~!! ( not really, sorry) You could do one day a week at a co-op for interaction. I do Passion Parties. It gives me the adult interaction I need and I can make money in the evening when my hubby gets home. But I don't know if the child's father is involved. If so, you can take comfort in knowing that one of you is home with her! ;-)
Passion Parties provides sensual products for women 18 and older through in home parties! Our mission is to educate enlighten, and entertain!

Children come first-period. Especially if your child need extra attention. If you are concerned about money, see if there is a way you could find a job working from home. Or perhaps your present employeer could set you up with a home office.

stay home with your child and bond no amount of money is worth the value of that and it helps your child to heal and be comforted by his mother nothing could be more healing than that you can find other ways to let your child socialize like the park or church or a mothersgroup and just remeber who you leave your your child with all day long is injecting thier personality into your childs .............
