I woke up this morning with this song in my head, and I would like to find it. I think it is about 30 years old b/c I remember it at the local hangout in 8th grade - Skate City. It had a relatively fast beat, and all the lyrics I can remember are that it opens with:

Someobody told me I was living in the light ...

And then the refrain had:

You ain't me and I ain't you. There's a hell of a difference between the two.

I truly appreciate anyone who can help, especially if you can tell me the artist along with it.

Isley Brothers--Livin' in the Life (1977 or 1978) from "Go For Your Guns" album (now a CD available at Amazon)

It was a hell of a time to figure out this one. Assuming that the Yahoo!360 webpage below is correct (see the "Know Your Source" box), here are the lyrics:

Somebody said, I was Living in the Life.
Somebody told me, I was Livin in the Life.
Think that you might know,
You find that you’re reading me wrong.
My patience comes and goes,
But my livin has got to go on.

And if you think it’s easy, it’s only cuz
You ain’t me.
And I aint you.
Check out the difference
Between the two.

Somebody said it was easy in my life.
Somebody told me, I had made it in my life.
Try to understand
My determination when
You can only stand
On the outside looking in.

And if you think it’s easy, it’s only cuz
You ain’t me.
And I aint you.
Check out the difference
Between the two.

Somebody said, I was Living in the Life.
Somebody told me, I was Livin in the Life.
Try to understand
My determination when
You can only stand
On the outside looking in.

Oh you ain’t me
And I ain’t you
It’s a hell of a difference.
Between the two

try going to azlyrics.com and posting a question on their forum, it is really easy and the people there serisouly seem like they know every single song from every band that has ever been played in the history of music.
