Well its the amount of songs it can hold. The 2 GB only comes in silver and it can only hold 500 songs, the 4 GB comes in 4 colors(go figure) which are silver, pink, green, blue and red (if u want to apple to give $10 dollars of the iPod purchase to an organization that helps to stop AIDS in Africa) and it holds up to 1000 songs. The 8 GB iPod comes only in Black and it holds to 2000 songs. The prices are for 2GB:$149, 4GB:$199, 8GB:$249. But since the 8 Gb iPod Nano is $249, You should buy the 30GB iPod with Video because its $249 as well and You get more cool features like movies and stuff but its only a suggestion.

2 gb holds less than 4 which holds less than 8. that being said, the 8 is also extremely expensive. i would go w/ 2. actually i would buy an mp3. ipods r expensive bc ur paying for the name brand. i have a dell mp3 that is 512 & its perfect. i love it.

Memory and price.
2gb = £99 ($149) 500 songs (only available in silver)
4gb = £129 ($199) 1000 songs (blue, green, pink, silver and now in red)
8gb = £169 ($249) 2000 songs (available in black only)
i have the blue 4gb, its very nice ;)

The only difference is the amount of songs the ipod can hold. The higher the gig amount the more songs you can hold.
