Other life out there....sure....in the form of plants, micro organisms, algae, etc.
Actual humanoid life forms that have cities, build space ships and visit us....no. Mathematically impossible when you figure in all the exact items that had to take place in forming the earth to later create the first signs of life here and all the exact asteroids that hit, made it change, etc over millions of yrs to sustain life today as we know it....just impossible.
Now to explain what "the little green men" are. They are us, but from the future. For the past 10 yrs or more our government has played with time distortion, travel, black holes, etc. We already know if you fly a plane fast enough and high enough, the time on that plane is different than the time recorded on the surface of the planet.
Now jump over into nature.....take a mouse and make it live under the ground for many generations and what do you get? A mole, a hairless, large eyed, smaller version of itself but still has the same size head as the skull and brain cannot shrink.
Now jump over to humans...how would you create a mole like creature out of a human as people state the little green men look like.
You have a world nuclear war and force man kind to go underground for hundreds if not thousands of years. Over generations the human body will transform to its new surroundings, lighting, lack of sunshine, etc. In turn, become exactly what they say space men look like.
Now take into effect present day they are playing with time travel, figure a world war with nukes is anything from 1 to 100 yrs away. And we all know that what we are told is not the 100% truth from the government. Example, stealth fighter, its high tech today but was created in the 1960's. So if they say they are playing with time travel today, imagine what they really have already going on in the back ground.
Now flash forward say 1000 yrs and the residue from the nuclear war is wearing off and man kind is wanting to come to the surface one again. But since we have changed into mole like creatures, we cannot just live on the surface without dying or being hurt by the sun. So how do you solve this? You travel back in time and collect basic DNA samples so you can alter the human gene line in the future back to normal. If not actually impregnate women to give birth to basic drones to take back.
This would also explain why there are sightings all over the planet today, they want each type of human DNA and to explain past reports of so called flying saucers...that was just us but during the testing and trials of learning of how time works.
This theory might seem out there, but when you look at nature, how it operates, how mankind is and what man kind has and has created, its totally logical. Specially compared to the idea that some being traveled from some distant planet with cities and all on it and they somehow broke the laws of science to fly through space. That’s as silly as thinking the earth is flat.

You are not alone and some of us are enough like you that with only slight alteration, we appear to look like you. We have been here a long time. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

There is a famous linear equation by Dr. Frank Drake, now known as one of the pioneers in radio astronomy, that illustrates the probability of the existance of other life forms in the Universe:
N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL
N* represents the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy.
fp is the fraction of stars that have planets around them.
ne is the number of planets per star that are capable of sustaining life.
fl is the fraction of planets in ne where life evolves.
fi is the fraction of fl where intelligent life evolves.
fc is the fraction of fi that communicate.
fL is fraction of the planet's life during which the communicating civilizations live.
N, the number of communicating civilizations in the galaxy.
Skeptics may argue that most of the variables in this equation are less objective than they should be. This is an open question. Scientifically, the odds of finding another civilization is slim, given the vast distances we must undertake to communicate with them. From meteorites we know that certain bacteria (extrememophiles) can inhabit in even harsh harsh environments, therefore, it is worth pondering whether any form of life can evolve to be self conscious (intelligent).
For more info, explore SETI's projects. I for one, believe that our knowledge of the Universe will change dramatically in the next few decades, even origin models of the universe based on string theory are being challenged. New research will shine more light on this subject. Our universe certainly has the potential to carry other life forms, that's good enough for me.

Why haven't we heard from them?
Perhaps they are not technologically advanced to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.
Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that flew by may be a surveillance craft.
Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.
Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.
Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.
It is really impossible to know for sure.
The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

there is no definitive answer.
just because no life has been found does not mean no life exists or existed elsewhere in the universe.
there are still good chances that life exists on mars or the moons of Jupiter since life on earth has been discovered deep in the ocean without sunlight next to volcanic heat vents. there is a book that is fascinating called "pale blue dot" written by Carl Sagan. in this book he discusses your question. there is an equation called the drake equation that is used by seti to determine the probability of finding life else where. personally, i am a believer in life elsewhere in the universe. i think that they will be different from us. probably much more intelligent and advanced.

We are probably not alone. In fact its possible that there are scores, hundreds, maybe millions of different species of alien visitors here now observing us. So, how can this be possible if we can't see a one of them? Think about the one intelligent species we know exists - us. Where are we headed technology-wise? In the next 25 to 50 years we will develop computers and supporting technology so powerful we will be able to scan and copy our minds to the computers. This will vastly increase our intelligence and the pace of advancement and quite likely we'll know how to send our minds out into the galaxy at the speed of light. At that speed we will get to every star in the galaxy in 200,000 years. Now imagine many other technological species in the galaxy having already done this and now are here at earth observing us. No doubt we'll meet them when its our turn.

In some ways they are similar, in other ways not. Depends on where you're from and where they're from. What kind of energies are you most attracted to? Are you a fast mover? Do you have great interest in the stars? Do you have a mind that loves to explore and experience new things? Are you open to experiences that bring you a greater understanding of who you are and why you came here in the form you reside in? What kind of dreams do you have? Do you often dream of flying or are you particularly interested in the rhythms of the Earth or both? Do you have a tendency to "feel", "sense", "smell" or "see" the energy of the people and things around you? What skills do you have that you are proud of? Boy, seems like my answer involves a lot of questions! The more you learn about yourself, who you are and what you came to do, the more you will learn about life "out there" and if they are similar to you. As for myself, I look at the stars and planets and all of their beauty. When I'm sad I look at them and somehow feel that I have a lot of friends looking out for my butt. I love this subject because I've had a lot of experience with it. I hope you enjoy your life with an open mind to the endless adventures that all the Earth and her star friends have to offer.

I do think there must be life in other planets. The Universe (in our limited human knowledge of it) is infinite, so I am not so arrogant to think that we are on the only planet with living beings in the whole universe.
I think that also some of them may be similar to us, and also they may have different species, just like the planet Earth.

Yes I think there is life out in the Universe or as now it seems more likely every day "Universes".
Consider it this way. There are billions up0n billions of Galaxies in the known universe. There are billions upon billions of solar systems in our Galaxy. Ours is a medium range solar system(not spectacular as solar systems go) in a not exactually spectacular Galaxy as Galaxy goes) .
This means there the probility of solar systems with planets like
ours is like comparing the number of possible planets to grains of sand on every ocean and sea on earth in just our Galaxy alone.
I really think life will come into play or happen if conditions are met or right. It may not be life as we know it but life is in my opinion as abundant as water once we learn to look in the right places and to intrepet what constitute life fully.
The odds of there being life just like ours is very favorable..
We are made up of the same minerals you find on earth everywhere as well as known planets . Our bodies are made up of 70% water, with the rest being minerals. Our bone mass, organs skin, nails all contain these abundant minerals.
Our scientist know from searches with hubble and other scopes that there are large gas planets with many of the same material we have in our bodies, and at least one rocky planet ha sbeen found around another sun.
You and I must have iron, zinic, magnesia, copper, calcium, ect. these plus others are the same materials you find (like copper you find in your house wiring), cars, and other manufactured products in just a mineral, gas, or liquid from.
If we can evolve from these minerals, liquids, and gases we find on earth which we now know are found all over the Universe than it's nearly a done deal that other civilizations have risen from the dust and seas of their planets. and solar systems.

I'm sure it's very possible that in our vast universe there are other life forms. I do not, however, believe that we have been "visited".
I also doubt that any alien beings would be very much like us. The genetic diversity on our own planet is amazing, nevermind what creatures on other planets would look like.
