I have found through experience that the initial momentum from a good idea can easily be squelched. To develop writing muscle I have set a time limit (like 10 minutes) where I just have to write something. Then I can look at it and decide if it's what I'm going for or not. I have to make the concious choice to shut out all other distractions as well. I have found that writing is hard work. But if it's in you, don't give up.

huh, what are you talking about, go for a walk and have a drink of water and your inspiration will come back. Stay off messenger if you are really trying to do work.
