Wouldn't it make more sense to only allow 18+ to use it? Especially since 9 out of 10 times I see a question in blatant disregard for the rules, it is asked by a young teen. Other than in the homework help section, what are the benefits of having -18s in here?

But I'm 16 and if it was for 18 and overs I wouldn't be allowed access! And I have questions and answers of my own too, you know probably more then "some older folks"..

look i don't mean to be rude or anything but i'll tell you the benefits!!!most of the time we teenagers can know more than you adults!! i know that some teenagers act so dumb and retarded but not all teenagers are like that! we have are uses too! we are people like everyone else and we deserve to have a voice of some sort!we need to ask questions like everyone else you see.and we could help people too! look at me for example im only 14 and i got 100+ best answers which means i have helped someone some how so as i was saying without us Y!A would stop working and get filled up with ignorant people! sorry if i disagree with you but that is just my opinion. hope you change yours though.

seems as though you have definetly stired the pot, lol. I think they should be at least 16. I only say this because there are alot of strange people on the internet and bad things can happen to the younger kids and teens. Its a sad sick world we live in these days.

I think just the opposite, it's some of the older ones on here who act like 13. Some of the questions from the kids are more honest and interesting.

If they were 13 and said they were 30, how would you know? I don't give age a thought here. if I like the question, I will answer it. I have no idea if the questioner is 13 or 90.

you i must admit that some 20+ year olds ask the most stupid question ever that i myself have seen and some 13 year olds have sensible questions,hy! this is for fun so i guess any age can come on here and i know 8 year olds who come here..you never know someone's age if you see thier questions though..thats just me and im 15â¥

i think Y! should have an 18+ section. but some of the younger ones can be kinda funny sometimes

That is a very valid point you raise. Unfortunately that age group is exposed to much worse on the TV & video games.
It is so often advised that parents monitor their children's internet use.
