a pair of slacks and a casual shirt. The rules about black are out the window now too. Just wear neutral or muted colors like gray or even a deep blue. A polo shirt may be a little too casual if you go for too light a color. Definitely black for that. a button down is always safe, no tie necessary.

Gosh, what do you normally wear to church?

I'd start w/ your regular church attire, just making sure you're not looking like you mistake this funeral for, say, a wedding or Easter.

first dress yourself respectfully, make sure all is black. shirt is white. neck-tie is black too. shoes black too. and socks same as black.
PS.if you have white or salt/pepper hair -- natural that is. leave it as is. it is acceptable.
