Triangle inequality says that any side of a triangle is less than the sum of the other two sides.

Clearly in this triangle the longest side can either be 25 or the missing side

Let its length be ℓ
Then either 25< ℓ + 6 or ℓ < 25 + 6
ie 25 - 6 < ℓ < 25 + 6

19 < length of 3rd side < 31

If the triangle is very nearly a straight line with the 6 side lying nearly against the 25 side, the third side would have to be almost (but not quite) 25-6=19. If it's again very nearly a straight line with the 6 side rotated to point away from the 25 side, the third side could be almost (but not quite) 25+6=31. 19 The third side couldn't equal 19 or 31 because then it wouldn't be a triangle, it would be a straight line.

try visualising the extreme values.

If the 3rd side were 19, the so called triangle would have squashed into a straight line, as 6 + 19 = 25

similarly, if the 3rd side were 31, a straight line would be formed as 6 + 25 = 31.

So the 3rd side of the triangle must be greater then 19 and less than 31

The 0.33 component can't be better than the sum of the two facets 6 + 25 = 31 The 0.33 component can't be much less that the version of the two facets 25 - 6 = 19 the respond is nineteen

It's got to be between 19 and 31.

It has to be longer than 25-6, and shorter than 25+6

I'm not sure what the question really is, but if you want the length of the third side, it's about 25.7
