They are both good vehicles. I drove a trailblazer about 500 miles last spring & it rode and handled nice. My only complaint was the horrible gas mileage. The ford should get around 8-10 more miles per gallon. I would buy the escape.

I may be a little bias here because I sell Chevrolet's. I guess it really depends on how big you want to go and how many you will have in the vehicle with you. You will get better gas mileage with the Escape no doubt about it. I am a 6'3" and about 300 pounds I would take a Trailblazer every time just for the room. I also believe the Trailblazer would have better resale value in 3-5 years and also would be safer. It is a little bigger and weighs more than an Escape. I would go with a Trailblazer. Thank you for listening and Good Luck!!!!!!!!! Brad

Trailblazer by far. My parents did quite a bit of research, and test driving. They ended up with the Trailblazer. Then my brother also bought the Trailblazer, other than some brake rotor issues with my parents, they both have been problem free. A friend of mine that has an '05 escape, thinks that it is lacking power, he don't like it. I don't know what motor his has in it either..... I have 2 chevy trucks, the newest one being an 05 crew HD.. I love it..

The Ford Escape is the better buy. The build quality of the Escape is far superior as is the ride quality. You didn't indicate if you where considering a V6 (Duratech) Escape or not but if you are the power of that engine is very impressive as is the durability.
I know 2 people who've owned tralblazers and both had transmission problems. One of them bought an '06 Escape and swears it's a more comfortable and better handling SUV. He also loves the powerplant and claims it's better on fuel.
Ford has had very little problems with the Escape. Initial build quality on the Escape is excellent according to J.D. Powers. I'm sure the Trailblazer is a decent truck but Ford is making a comeback and it shows in the quality of all their vehicles (2003 and newer).
Good-Luck on you decision.

I have a trailblazer LT and the ride is like a car except it has 4 wheel drive. I have had no major problems with it as of yet and it was bought new in 2003, I'm thinking about a 2007 trailblazer, my wife just loves them and she mostly drives it.
