how come david stern of the nba is banning the long black or white socks that kobe, wade, ai, and lebron wear from the nba????? whats rong with wearing them

It is the same as his off the court dress code. He wants the league to be in uniform. Everyone wearing the same clothes as the rest of their respective teams. He is trying to bring back the 60's-80's era in basketball.

Because David Stern is a straight up [ ]hole that thinks the game is not a fashion contest, so he bans pretty much everything that doesn't look good (to him at least). This rule also takes affect off the court, or it will soon. No white tees or anything like that, It has to be a nice looking suit.
So yeah, David Stern is an old hag.

I don't know. I think it's one of those stupid dress code rules b/c he just doesn't like them. Really it's just ******* stupid!! I wear those long black socks too in games, and I don't know how they could be a problem. He wants everything to be uniform, but that seems so boring. Why can't we have some variety and difference. Stern just doesn't like fashion!!! The nba needs a new commissioner. NOW!!

There's nothing wrong with wearing them.The tights are worn to keep the legs warm and to help guard against injury. Stern banned them because, for some reason, he thinks players wore them because they liked the way they looked, which is really dumb, because no man wears tights because he likes how they look.

absolutely nothing. he is too old to have that job & he is letting the power get to him & someone should step up before they have to wear button ups & khaki's to the game instead of jerzeys.
