career help about video game industry please?

Question

i love video games so i chose to do it as my career. but my question is what course in college should i take is it computer science program or computer programming if you want to work for playsation or xbox etc. also in video game industry what job makes the most money like do the game programmers make a lot of money then animaters. please help me out thanks

If you want to find out what the computer gaming industry is looking for in their employees - go straight to the source. Go to the various game manufacturer sites, and look for their careers page. Then you can see the various positions that are in demand, and what the requirements are for each of them:

Creating video games and playing them are too completely different things. Just because you like one doesn't mean you will necessarily like the other. That being said the best way to get a job in the video game industry is to major in Computer Science. You should learn most everything you need in the courses required for your major. What you don't you will learn from on the job experience. Starting salaries will probably be in the 40-50k range with 80-90k for management positions.
