Most magicians are just illusionists. David Copperfield is very good at what he does.Magic is just tricks and illusions.

Magic is a slippery term.
David Copperfield does magic. His magic is a combination of science, art, psychology, stagecraft and sheer practice. He evokes awe, wonder, and mystery with his abilities. That is a very real kind of magic.
Magic can also refer to sheer tricks- which as anyone who has seen a lame card trick knows- there is little 'magical' about just knowing how to do a trick. The 'magic' here is presentation, skill, etc.
Then, of course, 'magic' or 'magik' can refer to control of the supenatural- which does not seem to really exist.

Magic is making the impossible, possible. What David Copperfield does is make the impossible APPEAR as if it's possible. And he is very good at what he does.

I would love to believe in magic but I don't. Magicians use tricks, gadgets and slight of hand to give the illusion of magic. Not to give them a bad name or discredit them-I love these tricks just as much as anybody else does but they should really be called illusionists because that is what they do. How ever I would love for someone to prove me wrong.
