If you have an independent lumber mill near you he'd probably take it. Best bet is to put an ad in the paper and let someone show up. There are a lot of "jobbers" out there who do a little of everything for money, they would bother with one tree where the big guys could care less unless it's 100 acres of woods.

Don't expect much money for it, if you get $100 I'd be shocked.

Most people think that these trees are worth thousands and it's just not the case. Most companies won't fool with one tree unless it is very large and a specie that has a high veneer value such as cherry, red oak,or hard maple. The tree has to be fairly large diameter too ( 20 inches or so). A local mill could tell you a logger with a Prentiss loader( a truck with a grapple already on it). They might pick it up on the way to the sawmill. Don't get your hopes up on coming back with your kids college tuition.

It Depends...What is the species, What is the height and diameter..Remember, who-ever buys it will need to be paid for picking it up and transporting it to a mill. the number of board feet obtainable from the log will tell the value of salvage, unless it is a large cedar tree that can be bucked up small to make cedar shingles. most probably, your single tree is worth only for firewood

depends on th etype of tree ans usually the saw mills are the ones to buy your trees. most are leary of them because people drive nails in trees if they are close to the house.

if they don,t know you, they probably won,t. they don,t like trees that come from the city, to many problems with nails and fence that the tree has grown around over the years
