Why is there a Ladybird, but no Gentlemanbird? The girls get a beetle and we don't? Not fair!
I would like to put forward the Stag beetle for a "Gentlemanbird"! What do you think?

Good question there has to be a male to go with the ladybird.Infact im going to search.Had a look it will yake time found out that some people say its called lady after The Virgin Mary.

If you had ever looked under a microscope at a ladybird you wouldn't be impressed that it had been named after you - they are really, really ugly bugs!

I agree. although I'm sure the Ladies think we already have our own beetle.... the dung beetle coz I'm sure they think we're all sh*ts

There's no "gentlemanbird" 'cos it'd be a mouthful everytime you saw one. ladybird's much easier to say, and lets face it: they're bright and colourful: like most ladies!
