Good question there has to be a male to go with the ladybird.Infact im going to search.Had a look it will yake time found out that some people say its called lady after The Virgin Mary.

There's no "gentlemanbird" 'cos it'd be a mouthful everytime you saw one. ladybird's much easier to say, and lets face it: they're bright and colourful: like most ladies!
