How much is the total tax on a normal package of 20cigs.and if you could,could you tell how many packs a smoker buys a week?a month?a year?

I think it is 5 cent tax per dollar,alot of folks get coupons and buy a carton dirt cheap, or you could buy by the day, which is 2 to 3 bucks per pack. So, add that up.

In my state(NH) the tax is $.21 per pack The normal person smokes 11/2 packs a day.91/2 perwk,661/2per mo,1,798 per year.$377.58 in taxes.

That is dependent on your locale! NYC charges over two dollars in tax on a pack. Cigarettes are over $7 in NYC. But if you go upstate, they are less.
