I have a friend who's been missing for almost a month with her four children. Her father and I thought she might have just took off for awhile to clear her mind. ( crazy husband problem, and others, ect.) Our local police have been called, but don't seem to be taking it seriously. There's no way she has any money left to feed her 4 children. (ages 2-8) And she's called no one or tried to get money out of her checking accounts in another state. What can I do to get the police to take this more seriously. I'm at a loss, and scared to death for her safety. She's only 31.
Who should I call, or do?
Any suggestions would be helpful and your prayers.
Thanks.

Use your local media outlets (newspapers, tv news etc). Often times, they will spotlight a certain situation and the police take notice. Print out flyers with her picture and pictures of the kids, and post them in stores, banks, churches etc. Call the Center for Missing and Exploited Children (look for number on your computer or phone book). They are a good resource. Call your representative in your area and explain everything to him/her. Ask this person to aid in getting more police investigation going. Good luck!

why would the police not take a missing person report as serious? i am sorry to hear this and i hope she is ok, along with the children. keep calling the investigator and bugging the crap out of him/her. a lot of missing person reports are filed and left alone until someone calls with a new clue in hand. how do you know that she has not used her cards? does her father or you have access to this information or did the police tell you that? just keep calling and bugging the crap out of the investigator. good luck!

File a missing persons report and if they won't let you track down a sister or parent of hers to do it.
