Hi! I was adopted here in Canada...I am a native person and adopted by caucsian people...I was wondering if anyone else was? I had a great life..But when I was younger I struggled with the fact I didn't think I "fit" in being in a upper middle class neighborhood..From those who were...Any thoughts?? Asking for some shared expriences!

I was. I've never known my birth parents, but my adoptive ones were great. It's not so important to me now that time has passed, but it was tough when I was young. I'm mostly glad that I wasn't aborted.

Hi. I was adopted too. I am Caucasian and was adopted by Caucasian parents. My life has been wonderful. My folks always told me right from the beginning that I was adopted and they made me feel special because of it. I feel very fortunate that I have had the life I have.

I am an only child and that has caused me some feelings of aloneness. I located my birth mother some years ago and learned that I have 2 brothers and a sister. They don't know anything about me. Because I grew up as an only child it's a strange feeling to know that I have blood brothers and a sister out there. I don't have any love for my birth mother because she is simply the woman who gave birth to me. Not my parents. My parents are the people who raised me and in my mind, are my real parents.

I'm glad you are coping with your situation. Many adoptees feel bitterness. I think it is all about how your parents handle the situation.

I got pregnant in high school and I gave my son up for adoption. It was the best thing for the baby and I have absolutely no regrets because I know my child is better off. I am glad that it worked out good for you and of course you fit in that kind of neighborhood because that is the environment which you were raised.

I have a niece and nephew who are adopted. Both are very young but I hope grow up knowing how very much they are loved.
