The people I know who owns bags by these designers tell me that they think it is cool and because they have seen pictures of their favorite celebrities toting these pricey pieces. Part of this trend may stem from celebrity endorsement and from how popular it is depending on the popularity of this person. I mean, if you saw a picture of Lindsay Lohan walking down Rodeo Drive and clutching a Luiz Vuitton purse, wouldn't you like to copy her style?
For the record, I have never owned a designer bag. The most expensive one I have ever had was an Enzo Angiolini leather purse that was like sixty dollars. However, the quality of it is really good.
My mum, on the other hand, has an old Dolce and Gabanna bag that she has had since the eighties and it is still in great condition, even after twenty years! Judging by her, I think that the quality of a designer bag is really good though it would mean shelling out hundreds of dollars for it.

Its worth it if you can afford it....the qaulity and the cut is better and usually u can find some realy original pieces. But if you cant afford it you can still spend the extra money at sample sales or outlets because its the same stuff only cheaper. When u buy a Louis Vuitton bag u know that its going to last you forever the same goes for a nice Dolce coat or suit.

I buy certain products for their quality an design. No one that designs clothes for low end stores has a fashion sense of dolce and gabbana, and guccietc..The fabrics and prints are different, each item is limited in amounts so its not mass-produced.Its unlikely to see someone wearing the same thing. Louis vuitton, fabulous designer, extreme high quality, gucci is a name old designer that has been around for years , my great grandmother wore gucci, coco chanel.I do not buy all designer labels ,only: purses, sun glasses, belts, and limited edition jeans . Don't get me wrong i do wear some levi jeans, and some dkny tops as well.Shoes usually steve madden, aldo, a few jimmy choo, and manolo blahniks.

I would say quality, but alot of times that's not the case. I've bought expensive clothes before that's fell apart, and something from the gap has lasted longer.
I think alot of it is because famous people wear it.....I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on a cotton tank top because of the tag!

No, they're not worth the money...you're paying for the brand name. I wouldn't have your closet filled with all designer clothing, just add ome it and mix it with other clothes.

The quality is def. better, but almost all the designer stuff I have is fake or bought second-hand and no one can tell. You just have to know where to look!
