Donald Rumsfeld seems to be the only one in the White House that is advising Bush to remain in Iraq and stand back and watch our troops being slaughtered dail in a police action.

We are not fighting a war on terror.

We are the police in the middle of a civil war.

Please give me some valid reasons, and no typical Republican hate tyrades, why Rumsfled should not resign.

Because he has failed on multiple levels.

He failed with the number of troops he led into war.

He failed to protect our troops with proper ammo.

He failed and stated that we "knew where the WMD were."

He failed in Afganistan (Taliban is back in droves... no Osama)

He's really failed at every level.

The real question is, what has he done RIGHT?

Why do you think Donald Rumsfeld is the only one insisting we should uphold our Geneva Convention obligations? That is a very strange assertion.

We are obligated to maintain defense of Iraq against Islamist insurgents until Iraq can defend itself. We are training more and more Iraqis to do the job every month, not 'standing back' and watching.

Rumsfeld should not resign because he is ensuring we do what the Geneva Conventions require as well as ensuring Iraq does not turn into the sort of Islamist hell-hole Afghanistan was when a previous Administration failed in its responsibilities.

Yes because he has been there much too long. Obviously, Iraq isn't working and we need a "second opinion" so to speak. ie. a different person in that position.

Yes he should. Not for anything he is doing wrong, but because the administration needs a fresh face and voice in the pentagon.

Rumsfield serves at the pleasure of the President, and as long as the President has confidence in him, and he is willing to serve, he should remain.
