The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I posted links for you in the source box pertaining to starting a business in New Jersey as well as the arts & crafts industry.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Basic Guide to Selling Crafts on the Internet by James Dillehay
* The Crafts Business Answer Book & Resource Guide: Answers to Hundreds of Troublesome Questions About Starting, Marketing, and Managing a Homebased Business Efficiently, Legally, and Profitably by Barbara Brabec

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Look up http://www.excelyourbiz.com
to learn how to build a personal, business, or merchant
website on your own without the high cost of paying for a
webmaster. They show you everything you need to know to build your own web site.

They offer advice and guide you through the steps to build your very own web site. Basic computer skills are needed and you don't need to be a computer whiz to build
your own website.

You need to check out your state's web site and see what sales taxes need to be charged and to whom. I have to file sales taxes every quarter.
