Can a place be truly haunted?

Or do you think that hauntings are just a state of mind?

I think most hauntings are caused by the psychological ramifications of knowing that a person died in a certian place.

I disagree. About five years ago I went to look at a home for sale. The moment I walked in the door I felt like I had to leave immediately. I literally felt a chill run down my spine and felt "cold spots" in the living room where I was standing. The guy I was with does *not* believe in ghosts or hauntings or esp or anything paranormal at all. When we got back to the car he asked me what was wrong, and why I acted so strange and had to leave so abruptly. I told him I thought someone had been murdered in that house and I was getting the creeps in there, and actually having somewhat of an anxiety attack. He actually admitted he felt something creepy too. We still had the open house flyer in hand and called the real estate agent. She confirmed that indeed, a woman had been murdered in that home by her estranged husband. I get the willies thinking of this right now. I've never had another experience like this since.

The theory goes that places that are considered "haunted" hold imprints of events that happened there in the past. Hauntings are manifestations of those imprints and sometimes can be felt, heard, odors can spontaneously fill a room where there is no source for said odor, rooms can become cold, lights can flicker, doors can close etc. I've lived in an old New England tenement house, converted to 8 apartments that certainly held these imprints and I witnessed some of the first hand and heard many stories from other tenants. I have also seen a ghost, but at an another appartment where I lived. I am certainly a believer but also look for logical explanations for certain phenomena.

haunted buildings and locations have been "imprinted" with emotions from various time periods in history. an intuitive person can see, is something that has happened days, years, or even hundreds of years ago. certain situations can be replayed over and over again, throughout what we call earth time, that is one type of haunting.

there is also the type of energy that we, as individuals carry with each and every one of us, we can manifest this (emotional baggage) that we carry into physical reality. sometimes people will see shadows or "darker spots" in their homes.......they consider them ghosts, when what they really are is manifested emotion...a house can come with a neutral energy, and depending upon the emotional energy that is put into the house, this neutrality can become an entity of positive or negative energy.
when we give off emotional energy, (love, hate, fighting, grief, guilt) it goes out into the atmosphere...it gets trapped within the confines of our reality...it has to go somewhere........an intuitive person can pick up on this
ever see orbs in your home? similiar.....thing.... the larger orbs are balls of human and ghostly emotions emitting brightly colored light..(usually white or yellow).........the smaller orbs (usually white, sometimes yellow) are the angels and spirits that frequent graveyards and other areas known to be haunted...........
our dear departed ones, can come back, spirits can visit us as they wish..... the curtain between life and death (there really isn't any) is very thin..........

I don't believe in haunted things. I think that if you think a place is haunted and you get scared, you see things. That's just part of the imagination; you see things that aren't there and you hear things aswell. Sorta part of being scared...

I definitely believe in ghosts, and spirits. I believe the soul lives on after the physical body dies, so this is only logical for me.

i dont know if "ghosts" really exists. Personally i think a soul gets trapped in time and therefore pulling the life force out of them and making them weak. maybe "ghosts" are the trapped souls.
