Lol the xbox says the disc is dirty in words? I have never really played an xbox much and I have not had a Disc read error on it , that's what the PS2 says when it cannot read a disc. So you might just think Disc read error means dirty disc because I think it would be funny and hard to believe if the xbox really said it in those words.

Anyhow like the Ps2 perhaps some xboxs laser can get dirty or weak over time. Or it could be a problem with the disc magnet system. I have had these problems with more then 1 PS2. The second time I tried fixing it and by adjusting the lasers voltage from within it worked for a few days then the laser died permanently. Good thing the PS2 mini does not have theses problems as much as the old PS2. I suggest you look and see how you would go about cleaning the laser if that is even the problem. Also maybe it is the game? It was brand new? not used?

Maybe others with this game are having the same problem you could try a search but the odds of it being a defective disc is rare.

Lets see what others have to say I do not know much about opening an xbox I read about the PS2s only.

P.S try everything else before you attempt to open it up. and only open it up if you know what your doing I suggest you phone the customer support number before you do that and see what there repair costs are and stuff. Plus they might have advice for you too.

You probably have an older Xbox. The laser in the DVD drive is failing. they were made by a company called Thompson and are not a good quality drive. Microsoft now uses DVD drives by other companies. This is a problem that literally tens of thousands of people had including myself. You can call Xbox support and the will repair it for you if you haven't taken the cover off the game. they will probably want to charge you $80.00 I would push them to do it for $40.00. This is a problem caused by an inferior part and Microsoft will not admit to it. If you dont send it in you can buy a brand new replacement Thompson DVD drive on EBay for around $40.00 It is easy to replace. one of the tools you will need that you might not have is a number 10 torx screwdriver. remember when you fix the game you will lose everything saved on the hard drive.

okay take the game back to the store and if you got your recite than your good . than you ask for a new game and you tell them whats wrong with it , and if they dont give you a new one than just take it back and trade that one for a new one and if that dont work than talk to the manager and refuse in lest you get a new one or you well report the store there !
