I think there are a couple. One is "Thirteen" starring Evan Rachel Wood, Nikki Reed and Holly Hunter because it is a good depiction of young teens in troubled times and also, "I shot Andy Warhol" based on the woman who shot him.

i think pieces of april is a good movie.....but i dont really watch independent movies often but this i believe is the best

as far as lasting history in current film theory classes? probably reservoir dogs. how amusing someone would pick its hollywood follow up pulp fiction.
