depends...

if you have kids somewhere in fairfax or arlington has the best schools

if you don't want to commute somewhere closer... even though fairfax and arlington would work

falls church is pricey but it's got a great commute system, easy to get into dc.... they also have good schools

Washington Dc is a colourful city and with a super form of jobs, looking on your skills. the standard public transportation is spectacular with metro( like tube in london) and local buses. Accomodation is expensive. attempt to stay at YWCA till u come across a place or share an apartment with different college pupils. Sharing lease would be good theory initially. CAn locate lot of residences for share in waashington placed up newspaper classifieds. BEN

What side of the city are you going to be working in? If you're working on the North side, you may want to consider Rockville, Greenbelt, Laurel, Gaithersburg or Columbia, MD. If it's going to be more convenient for you to travel South, then the Northern Virginia cities the other mentioned would propbably be just as good.

I would not live in DC.

Stay in Northern Virginia, probably Fairfax County. They have the best schools in that area. But it's a very very very expensive place to live. Hope he's making good money!

Look into places in Northern Virginia, some place in Fairfax county. I'll advice you though, it's a pretty expensive place to live.
