"If you break it, you own it."
The New York Times > Washington > Bush Accepted 4 Cabinet Resignations on Friday: "Although he was a professional soldier for 35 years, rising to chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, and oversaw the first war against Saddam Hussein, in 1991, he urged the administration to use caution this time around. Some colleagues said Mr. Powell had used a slogan typically found in antique stores in describing what the United States' predicament might be if it went to war: 'If you break it, you own it.'"
