Oh no.. im so sorry to hear that!

first of all check the bathroom frequently for any traces of carrion.. my guess is Icarus stepped into the bathroom coz he got hungry and there was perhaps a dead cockroach somewhere in there. a mid night snack?

in which case i suggest you make some alterations to his diet..which will reduce if not eliminate his need for bathroom visits.
my suggestions for some irresistible midnight snacks are fried frog fritters and chilli corn cranes.. the californian condors particularl;y enjoy these.
the andean condors however prefer vegan diets.. believe it or not... in which case i suggest fresh blooms of the Titan Arum or Rafflesia arnoldii.these are now easily available at most local florists.

moulting on the sunbed is further evidence of specific food intolerance..

If Icarus stepped into the bathroom to take a leak.. i suggest that you put him on a leash and take him out for frequent flights to relieve himself. This will also reduce his need for sunbeds especially if the sun exposure time is between 11am and 12 pm.

in the meanwhile to aid his healing from the burns try vinegar.. balsmic vinegar seems to be the best..
and if you must put him on a sun bed apply a thick coat of alovera gel (not cream) to reduce moulting.
my love to Icarus.

cheers!!
:)

having just returned from a South American condor adventure holiday,I feel well able to advise you on this matter. You should lightly oil the feathers and then place the whole wing in a sling...keep the little fella out of the bathroom..... in fact I would put him in the outside shed where he would be more comfortable and if he moults it wont matter about the mess. When he is fully recovered keep him off the sunbed and give him something useful to do..... until Xmas...make a change from turkey....

We have the extinct bird the Dodo as pets and when they burn their wings we lower the temperature of the oven about 100 degrees. Be sure to use a timer and also have a lot of extra duck sauce on hand. You will be surprised how useful a set of stainless steel tongs will help you in preparing the honey glaze for the feather garnish.
I hope this helps!

If your grandmother is not as alert as she once was you could kill the condor and get him stuffed and put him on his perch. This would avoid the need for visits to the bathroom and vanity trips to the sunbed.

Ah hun, that sounds really awful poor little condor, mine does the same all the time, he wont stay on his sunbed tho, he has concerns about UV lighting and the increased risk of cancer. Tell icarus i'm thinkin of him and sending him my heartfelt sympathy xxx
