Red Auerback died yesterday(unknown still), a legend in basketball here in Boston. I'm a Bostonian and admire what he did for the sport. Does anyone else miss/admire him and why.

The guy was a great GM. I hate the Celtics, but the teams he brought together and his drafting and trading for all star caliber players was amazing. He had one of the best eyes for talent on the basketball court ever. He was a colorful personality and always interesting to listen to. A sad day for not only Celtic fans , but NBA fans everywhere.

I think all true basketball fans that know of him will be deeply saddened over this. I thought he was one of the most influential men in all of sports history. This is a sad for all sports fans. He was my favorite coach of all time and I will remember him always.
