servive engine soon light comes on after 20 min of driving and goes off when key is turned off and is still off when you start it back up until you drive another 20 min and comes back on

you'd have to hook it up on a code reader to be sure but my guess is the oxygen sensor

you might need a new O2 sensor or you could try to clean out the in take manifold buy spraying fuel injector cleaner in the throttle body or you could try new spark plugs and wires. When is the last time that thing has had a tune up any way?

change the coolant temp sensor, it is located on the front of the intake, in the thermostat housing. I think they run about 16-18 dollars, and only take a few minutes to change. Lower your coolant level, first.

Replace the oxygen sensors. They screw up the mixture when they get old.

NEVER repeat NEVER change a part until you know the problem !! Lot of money wasted guessing. 1988 is obd 1

must be a sensor relay so I recommed you to put on a code breaker on it will tell you what the code is.
