How do you make scars and gashes for halloween with home ingredients?

I tried using gum instead of flesh putty for the skin, but that didnt work.

take Elmer's glue... Hold a fold in the skin and cover it with Elmer's glue. Let it sit until dried.
You will love the effect.

vasoline and coco. It makes a fleshy peely gross look that goes good with fake blood.
