I do chores to earn the money, but it just seems weird to buy gifts for her when it was her money in the first place. Whats everyones view on this??

There's nothing wrong with that; I mean after all it is now YOUR money, it's not hers any more. It's your money, do what you want. I'd say spending your money on others is a very thoughtful idea.

Absolutely! Consider it your income, no matter what the source. If you earn it, it's yours to do what you want with it. But, if it is still bothering you, see if there are some odd jobs you could do to earn money from a relative or neighbor and spend that money on your mom, and use your allowance on Friends and such.

Good for you for earning your money and thinking about your mom. I'm sure you will bless her with whatever you decide to get her for Christmas................God bless you!

why do u even need to be paid to do chores? Ur lucky u get paid to do chores. I would suggest u either make her something nice(if ur good with ur hands), OR cook her a nice meal (if u can cook), OR buy her something that u think she likes OR, just give her back some of the money.

If I were your mother I would be very proud of you for buying me a gift with your hard earned money. That is such a nice thing for you to do. Also I think that every Mom enjoys those handmade "I owe you" coupons that children make.

You earned that money right? You did your job and got paid for it, so there is nothing wrong with buying her a gift with the money if that is what you want to do with that money. It is similar to me buying my boss a token of my appreciation, with some of the money from my pay check. I would definatly do it!!

Your one of the lucky ones that get an allowance. Using it to buy your mother a gift shows LOVE

Sure, it's your money. It's nice that you wonder that though. In addition to buying her something why don't you make her a few coupons for extra chores around the house or special favors for her so she knows that you appreciate her.

Hohoho :)
Don't think about where the money comes from. Give with your heart.
Or you can also give her more time for 'free chores' as a gift.
