At the risk of sounding peculiar:

I don't know what it is, but everytime I meet someone who is Jewish, I get this deep overwhelming feeling of some sort of attatchent or interest or something. It's like the same feeling as if I had just met my brother for the first time in 25 years, since we were born. I can't really explain it in any other way. Anyone else feel that?

Anyone who is Jewish find that offensive or strange?

When people make jokes about Jews or say negative things, I find myself defending them, but never actively defending anyone else to these jokes and harsh statements. Why do you think this is?

you might be feeling Empathy because of how the Jews have been treated in the past. You might feel guilty because your ansestors were german? I dont think it's offensive, but you shouldn't really bother yourself with it. It's all in the past, try to get to know people for who they are, not for their race.

If you meet someone but the conversation does not lead to religion, do you have this deep feeling before you learn that he's Jewish ? What if you have this feeling but later learn that he is not Jewish ? Has this ever happened ?
I'm with you on slanderous jokes about any group . I have friends who are Jewish, but have no special feeling go through my body. They and all others are just people. People of all religions, nationalities, ethnic groups, and races are all the same. Some are the very best, some so-so, and some not too good.

I am the same way. I think Jewish people have had to deal with anti-semitism throughout the ages and I cannot for the life of me figure out why other than the fact that in early history, they were God's chosen people. I also will never turn my back on Israel.

Try the "crash course in Jewish history". See if any of these events resonate.

They are just nice people, but can be rude too.
