My grandfather was diagnose with cancer of the Larynex(voicebox), and has since learned that he will have to have it removed. My grandmother is devastated, and I am upset about it. I just can't seem to cry about it, does that make me a bad person?

from experience ive had both a good childhood 1-12 then when i became a teenager my parents divorced and we struggled alot i would have to say it totally depends on how the person see things in his life going through both i strayed off into bad things drugs and what not but now im a stronger person i learned while struggling between right and wrong soooo i decided i wasnt going to be BAD i changed my habits and problems..there is some truth in what your saying but generally anything could happen bad people come from good and bad childhoods good people come from good and bad childhoods also it just depends which way the child decides to go. Just because i ended up there (bad tennage life) i knew i wasnt going to stay there.

You are doing something I do. You are blocking out the pain because you can't deal with it. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. The pain and fear is in you somewhere, and the more you shove things in, the more pressure builds up. I assume it can influence your life, even cause you to make some of the decisions you make in your future. Maybe you really need to find someone to talk to so you can openly deal with these feelings and get them out of the way. I'm too old to worry about my future anymore but you are young and don't need to start carving out that useless space already. That's how baggage starts and that's what is bad, not you.

No - you are dealing with it in your own way, and at your own pace. When you need to cry, you will. Until then, remember that cancer isn't always a death sentence by any means, and that you can still love BOTH your grandparents, just as they love you if you are ill. Be there for both of them as much as you can, enjoy their company, and learn from them while they are with you, however long or short the time; and remember - while there is life, there IS hope!

Your grandmother is devastated, you're upset. What about Grandpa? Is anybody focusing on HIS feelings? He has cancer and will be losing the use of his voice. Right now he needs everyone to pull themselves together and help him get through this ordeal!

There are different ways of dealing with pain, you don't have to even feel bad about it, because you didn't do it right, don't feel bad about it, feel "sad" about it. Sometimes I don't cry at times when people most think I should, like this one time some asshole on ebay sold me a $300 ipod 60gb and all he sent me was reffrences where I could get an ipod. son of a *****, but I didn't even get all that angry then, or sad, I almost saw it coming. If there's a way I can get screwed on a deal it'll happen.

No you are not a bad person. People deal with their emotions at different times and different ways. The realization of this situation may hit you when you are least expecting it and you may have emotions at another time. For now you are being upset as you can; more internal then external

I stabbed a girl in the stomach because she touched my boyfriend and I'm not a bad person. There's no such thing as bad people, we're just good people that make mistakes. You made a mistake, (I'm don't know what) but all will be well! Go eat some ice cream and feel better, mijo!

No of course not!, you maybe somewhat stunned at this moment in time by the news and this can cause your emotions to be delayed which after a while will pass and shortly after a period of time it will sink in deaper to you and then you will truly feel able to recognise your true emotions about how you feel about this news. hope this helps you.
