Do you think the goverment (or maybe the current administration) has something to do with this?

No - it is strange, though, because typically stocks rise before Republican victories, and bond markets rise before Democratic victories.

Either the markets are slow to react, or CNN thinks the election is going to be decided by national issues when local issues will decide elections.

We'll find out in a week or so.

yes, and gas prices are going down right now also. looks like republican business men are trying to save their @sses during the coming election.
