Okay, I know I am asking a lot of math questions, but I am confused on my homework.

Okay, how do you turn a fraction like this into a decimal?
3 1/3.

Also, how would you turn it into a decimal if it was -3 1/3? Would you just do the same as the first, just with the whole number being negative?

and -3 1/3 = -3.333333...

hope this helps!

there r actually two method i don't know which one will u prefer
here is first
if mixed fraction is of this type
3 1/3 u can either change it into directly to decimal or first in simple form
here first into decimal like
3 1/3 let 3 be like that but change 1/3 by calculator or simply division
u will get 1/3=.3333
put 3first and then all those digits
3.3333
that's how u change it the second method is most famous
3 1/3
multiply denominator 3 with 3 as a whole no. and then add numerator to that no.
i.e.
3*3=9
now add 1
9+1=10
10/3 is the simplest form u have now divide 10 by 3 u will get=3.333

the -ive sign does not affect it u just simply ignore it for calculating simplest form
so -3 1/3= -10/3= -3.3333

first of all the 3 is a whole #. also fractions are just like a division problem. the line means divide. so divide 1 by 3. you'd then have
.333333333. . . just round it to .3

add the 3 to the .3. you'll then find that 3 1/3 = 3.3

-3 1/3 is the same but with a negative sign.

hope that helps.

Three is a whole number, so no change. The 1/3 is one third of one, or .33. The last digit can go on forever in this example.

Answer is 3.33

For reference: Divide 3 into 1. If you wanted 1/7th, it would be 1 divided by 7 equals .1428571. Get it?

To turn a fraction in to a decimal, just do what it tells you on a calculator, so 1/3 is 1 divided by three. Do that and you will get 0.33333 recurring.

11/16th is 11 divided by 16 or 0.6875
