Assuming you're talking about a pre-college test, it is in no way necessary. Most universities will accept either the ACT or the SAT. However, I strongly recommend taking a practice ACT before you commit to taking the SATs instead. While the math on the ACT is a little more complicated - including 2-4 questions that require a knowledge of basic trigonometry - the overall test is much more user-friendly. There are no experimental sections, for example, nor wrong-answer penalties (commonly known as guessing penalties), nor is the essay required, so you can opt not to take it. There are other reasons to chose the ACT over the SAT, but if you want to go to a university right after high school, you'll need to take one or the other. Consider checking out one of the free practice tests or seminars offered by Kaplan to learn more about these tests!

Do you mean Australian Citizenship Test????

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with cork heads like the Muslim Mufti out there brainwashing immigrants and Australian Muslims into believing statements like "women are a piece of uncovered meat for animals to eat" and "if a women stayed in her bedroom and wore her head cloth, rape and adultery would never happen" YES we need the ACT.

If after 4 years in Australia you have no idea what Australian values are and you still can't break the barrier with the English language despite being supplied with free schooling, then YES you should be denied citizenship and deported.

Oz is about freedom and equality for all, if you have moved here and choose not to accept that a male and female are equals and have equal rights then get out! If you have moved here and do not wish to comply with Australian laws, then get out!
